报告摘要:In the era of cloud computing & big data, we are facing the challenge of the increasingly developed large and complex systems. In this report, Relation-Oriented Architecture (ROA) is addressed. Traditional architectures, such as Function-Oriented Architecture (FOA), Object-Oriented Architecture (OOA) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) focus on software components and services, while ROA focuses on the RELATION between the software components and/or services. ROA provides higher level abstraction than the traditional ones and makes software architectures computable artifacts. This is useful for software mining and helpful to re-architecture large and complex systems in a relatively automatic way.

Developments being discussed here were partially funded by Royal Dutch Telecom. The research was done by the author in close cooperation with Prof. M. Looijen (Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands). Specialists and scholars inside and outside the telecom company were cooperated and the resulting technology was successfully applied in the re-construction of an existing large and complex information systems.

报告人简介:Mr. H. Li is director of CLEBA International Research Project, the Netherlands, who graduated from Peking University, Beijing, Chinareceived his PhD from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. He has about 25 years experience in the European academic and industry society.

Early before 1990’s, he was engaged in academic research on software reuse and co-developed concepts and models of software reuse-in-the-large with Prof. J. van Katwijk, Prof. M. Looijen and Prof. H. G. Sol of Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. Later on, he served in a strategic department of a major European company, planning software reuse strategies, chairing a project on re-architecturing large and complex systems. He published a professional book on application reuse-in-the-large and presented keynote speeches in international conferences. His current research interests are on relation-oriented architecture, software product lines and big data mining.
