报告题目：Securing Your Privacy in Insecure Location-based Mobile Services

报告摘要：The boom of smartphones brings prosperity to location-based services, where mobile users are able to make queries (e.g., finding nearby restaurants or friends) about their surroundings anywhere and at any time. While this ubiquitous computing paradigm brings great convenience for information access, it raises severe concerns about the potential intrusion of location privacy. The disclosure of location information may reveal sensitive personal information such as medical conditions, political views and legal affairs. Thus, much research attention has been paid to developing effective solutions that support various location-based services with location privacy preservation. In this talk, we will first give an overview of location privacy threats. We proceed with a detailed review of commonly used location protection techniques. Finally, we will present some of our recent efforts on enabling location-based information search with complete privacy protection.

报告人简介：徐建良，本科毕业于浙江大学，博士毕业于香港科技大学，现为香港浸会大学计算机系教授，IEEE、CCF高级会员。主要从事移动计算、位置服务、传感器网络等新型应用环境下的数据管理研究。近年来在相关领域共发表了120余篇学术论文，其中40余篇长文发表在CCF推荐的A类期刊（TODS、TKDE、VLDBJ、TPDS等）及A类国际会议（SIGMOD、VLDB、ICDE、INFOCOM等）。根据Google Scholar的统计，目前h-index为33，论文被引用次数超过5000次。近五年来共主持包括香港政府研究资助局（RGC）优配研究金在内的研究项目10余项，受资助总研究经费超过600万元。2011年作为港方指导教授入选首届“香江学者计划”。曾应邀担任IEEE ICDCS "12 TPC Vice-Chair，DASFAA "13 Demo Co-Chair及40多个国际会议包括SIGMOD、VLDB、ICDE、WWW、CIKM等的程序委员会委员，获得200年度IEEE ICDE会议的“Outstanding Reviewer Award”。
